We offer multiple birth support options for all kinds of families and births. We provide expecting parents with information, resources, and support during pregnancy to help them best prepare to meet their individual goals for birth, and our postpartum support continues for weeks and months (sometimes years, hello Parents' Happy Hour!)
Lactation Services
AthensBorn offers classes and in-home, office, and virtual consultations. We provide preventative and general support for breastfeeding and chestfeeding parents in the early days, as well as clinical IBCLC lactation consultations for more complicated situations.
Childbirth Education Classes
The goal of our childbirth education class is to help Athens families overcome fear of the birthing process through understanding and information.
Placenta Encapsulation & Services
Your placenta nourishes and sustains your baby for almost a year, and many parents aren’t quite willing to let it be discarded as medical/bio-hazardous waste. The goal of placentophagy (ingestion of the placenta) is to help alleviate some of the obstacles that occur in the postpartum period. We offer Placenta Encapsulation, Tinctures, and Prints & Cord Keepsakes.
Postpartum Doula Support
We work hard to ease the anxiety that comes along with the transition to new parenthood. Every family is different and your postpartum plan of care will be determined based on your specific needs.
Prenatal-Only Support
For families who are planning a Cesarean birth, or families who will be going into labor but won't be opting for traditional labor doula support.
Gift Certificates
A gift certificate is a great alternative to a traditional shower gift! We make it easy to give any service we offer as a gift, and will be happy to answer any questions you have about them. Available in any denomination.
