Apprentice Labor Doula Services

AthensBorn is proud to work with doulas-in-training! Our rate for Apprentice Labor Doula Services is $400. This rate includes all the same services offered by our experienced doulas, as well as the same access to additional AthensBorn services (lactation support, placenta encapsulation, postpartum doula care). An Apprentice Doula is a great option for families who want compassionate support and are comfortable working with a doula who is still in the process of acquiring their certification and gaining experience in the field.
All AthensBorn Apprentices are backed up by Becca and Kate, in the event that the Apprentice is unable to attend the birth (due to illness or emergency). They are also supported with resources, experience, and informational support throughout a client’s pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. These services include...
- A free initial consultation to provide you with more information and see if the doula team is a good match for your needs and wishes
- Phone/email support from the time of hire throughout your pregnancy.
- Feedback on your birth plan, answering any questions, discussing concerns you may have, and can recommend classes/books/resources/etc.
- A minimum of one prenatal visit in your home at appx 37 weeks with more visits available (and encouraged!) upon request, at no additional charge. We aim to meet each family’s needs.
- A workshop on movement and positioning for an easier birth led by our experienced doula team (Becca & Kate)
- The opportunity to register for additional services (lactation classes & support, placenta services, postpartum doula care)
- Phone/text/email support 24 hours a day/7 days a week, beginning at week 38 until your baby is born
- Physical, emotional, and information support at your labor and birth, from whatever point you would like your doula there!
- One postpartum visit, typically scheduled in the first 2 weeks postpartum
- A warm welcome in our (clients-only) monthly pregnancy & postpartum support group(s).
- Online support through our (clients-only) Facebook group and our parent group text thread program where you can connect with other parents, ask questions, and share laughs and resources.
