I am a doula in training and have worked in the birth community for three years. As Midwife Assistant and Client Care Coordinator at a birth center, I helped women through their journeys of pregnancy to postpartum. I trained under the managing nurse and the midwives, and met with patients during their prenatal visits. I worked with them on everything from taking their vital signs, triage for labor, and even their health insurance.
Once I became pregnant, my husband and I moved back to our hometown of Athens. After having my little boy and experiencing the life-changing events of birth and postpartum, I decided to become a labor doula to assist other women through this sacred time. Women should feel empowered to make decisions during birth and I believe my role is to listen, respect, and support mothers and families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. The transition into motherhood is such a special time and I would feel honored to be a part of yours!
